Education: 40 semester (60 quarter) units from an accredited college at application. Graduation from the Police Academy within six months of hire (21 additional units).

Age: 20.5 years at application; 21 at appointment.

License: Valid California Driver’s License and good driving record.

Citizenship: U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien who applied for citizenship at least one year before applying (not denied).

Vision: 20/20 corrected in both eyes; 20/80 uncorrected accepted with glasses/hard lenses; waiver for stable soft lenses.
